Profile

I am currently an Ocean Sciences PhD student at University of California Santa Cruz, studying how the ocean has stored carbon dioxide over tens of millions of years. In my everyday work, I remember how SFS Chile taught me to revere the Earth as a means of nourishing my community. That spring semester in 2024 was one of my greatest accomplishments in life.

Since then, I have kept in contact with many in my cohort. So far, we’ve met up in Detroit, the Twin Cities, New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, and we plan to take a trip back to the place that brought us all together soon!

Favorite SFS Memory: While it is hard to pick just one favorite SFS memory, I do miss slipping and sliding on the muddy trail as we climbed Monte Tarn. Being surrounded by the peat bog, looking up at the snowcapped mountain and down at the Magallanes Strait, with the westerlies blowing strong, and being surrounded by people I adored is one of the times I have felt most at peace.
